Dr. Ebersole is the Chief Science Officer for TAHPI. Dr. Ebersole earned is PhD in Exercise Physiology from the University of Nebraska in 1999. Dr. Ebersole is a Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT; since 1994) and in 2011, earned certifications from the National Academy in Sports Medicine as a Performance Enhancement Specialist (PES) and a Corrective Exercise Specialist (CES). Dr. Ebersole has worked as an Athletic Trainer and performance enhancement consultant with elite athletes and firefighters. Dr. Ebersole is currently an Associate Professor and Chair of the Integrative Health Care & Performance unit in the Department of Kinesiology at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Dr. Ebersole directs the Human Performance & Sport Physiology Laboratory. Dr. Ebersole’s professional practice background coupled with his successful research agenda will provide the basis for the scientific evidence to support the services of TAHPI.

Luis A. Rivera, Jr., B.S., PT, ATC, COMT, PES

Mr. Rivera is the Chief Executive Officer for TAHPI. Mr. Rivera is a 1999 (B.S.) and 2001 (Physical Therapy) graduate of Marquette University. He worked for Physiotherapy Associates in Phoenix as a Physical Therapist from 2001 to 2009. During this time period, Mr. Rivera provided consultative and physical therapy services for athletes in the PGA and LPGA Tour, MLB, NBA, and NFL; became the Rehabilitation Director at Arizona State University (2004) and; served as a Group Director for Physiotherapy Associates (2006). In 2009, Luis returned to Milwaukee and opened a new facility for Athletico Physical Therapy. Mr. Rivera and his team grew this facility to a 4 therapist operation in just 4 years. In 2014, Athletico was sold to private equity group Harvest Partners. Subsequently, Mr. Rivera joined Peachtree Orthopaedic, the premier Orthopaedic group in Atlanta, GA, and continues to work for them currently. Mr. Rivera’s clinical practice skills and knowledge as a physical therapist coupled with his successful clinical management experiences will provide TAHPI with the key business leadership and development expertise.
